you can’t see the safety net

I always try to put those I especially care about before myself, but sometimes they make me wonder why I even bother at all.

I know that I have a tendency to speak ill of religion. I know that I am very verbal about such thoughts. But I am shocked that some people would actually think I am trying to hurt or poke fun at them with religion. I know that I sometimes say things that are tactless and not phrased well, but I only mean well if I bother to ask you and care about what you feel.

I don't know why I bother so much all the time. Why I give way all the time. Or maybe I am just moody today.

I am sorry I said that

I was reading my #what a bitch post about my paternal grandma and I realise that I shouldn't have said what I did coz all she did was care so much for me. Oh well. The things I say.

The things we all say.

Gung Hei Faat Choi!

Chinese New Year has been quite a ball...a lot of drama....between 2 little sisters who share a love-hate relationship. The small one is quite the bossy one, sort of reminds me of my younger sister.

Anyway, have had a headache for almost the whole day and having a test on accounting the following day does not help at all!

I can't wait for this block to end. It has been more shit than shiatzu and I really just want to do 2D Art next block!!! Woopiee!!

Have been really busy these few days and I am really quite excited for end of block. Gonna have my bbq soon!!! But there is DOC refresh on 11th so I have to reschedule T.T

I was frantically texting everyone I invited just now to ask when they would be free. I made a spreadsheet.....what a nerdy thing to do.

Favouritism ain't my thing, but in this situation, I'd be glad to make an exception.

Everything is changing and happening so rapidly. Sometimes I wish I could stop the world and just chill for a minute.

sleep on a landmine

helloh eberybodeh.

It has been a hectic week for me and I'm barely done with my work. The mock interview for PComD is the least of my worries coz I am going to be nervous anyhow >.>

Writing a résumé is hard work!! And then of course, you're bugged by how in Word you cannot do shit to adjust the text etc (well you can its just really tedious), so you have to transfer everything to Ai and do it up. Its like typo all over again.

WHICH REMINDS ME. OMG. KILL ME NOW. The next batch of VSC students get 2 typo modules!??!?!?!

I shit on your face.

I don't understand the big fuss of admission in to schools. Why can't kids these days just make choices for themselves and stick with them. Why must everything be so complicated???

If anyone asked me what I'd have to say (and I am quite surprised no one did during Open House today when I was bringing people around) this is what it'd be:
Just go with your gut and choose something you are interested in. Things will be taught to you from scratch (or at least in Design School) and you don't need to worry. Don't be afraid of competition because competition is what drives you to do your best (if you don't want the best for yourself you might as well want NOTHING for yourself). If you're only concerned about earning money then just join business la hor? Everyone there will welcome you. I apologise if you're genuinely interested in business (but that seems really hard to believe ><). And seriously, the last thing you should consider is travelling fare (unless the standard for courses is similar). I feel so insulted every time people think I chose TDS coz the school is near FUCK YOU BITCHES. That's all.
If you weren't able to tell my advice isn't relevant to JC applicants.....then you really shouldn't go to a JC (SEE MORE ADVICE).

And really? Strength in TP (besides Design) = business? I just puked and ate it and died.

I'm sorry if I sound mean but "I am who I am". Deal with it.

Ugh!!!

Professional Communication for Design seemed like it would be borderline boring but its actually quite ok!! I read this book "The Perfect CV" and its really quite interesting how to write your CV/Résumé! All these little tips and dos and don'ts and stuff.

Basic Financial Accounting is a whole other story. The teacher is a nice old man hahaha but the subject is not rly nice.... He claimed that accountants have the most interesting job because accountants know EVERYTHING about the company and its activities etc. Hhaha what was funny is that he was telling this to Design students. Oh well. And there is this idiot of a girl in the class who thinks she's really good and shit and she talks in this heavy Singaporean accent which makes her sound totally stupid. And she actually said "aiya...Awfully Chocolate sucks!" UGHHH I WAS SO PISSED luckily I had the strength to tolerate and control myself enough to not totally flip out and bitch slap that bitch. That's it...this post is going in my "what a bitch" category.

España — Quinto álbum

I'm back in Singapore already, but still have photos to share! This is the last set of photos from Barcelona. It will be a long one—51 photos. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE NUUUU.

La Boqueria! The big market opposite my place at The Ramblas! I think it has turned more touristy but still the produce on offer is supremely fresh and vibrant and the atmosphere is perfect — raucous, lively, bustling, and the air is crisp and clean-smelling (probably due to the cold weather)!

Fruitjuice!

Delicatessen

Meats

super amazing chocolate confections *O*

Seafood! Razor/Bamboo clams and Cuttlefish!

Vegetables

Scampy—something you don't find regularly (or even at all) in Singapore

Lobsterrrrrrrrrr. Dad bought lobsters twice for dinner in our service apartment coz its significantly cheaper here in Barcelona!

French crabs on the right, something else unfamiliar to us Singaporeans, but don't fret, my dad says they aren't all that anyway.

Look at those innards!! And the head and the brains!

BRAINSSS

Cured meats. Had too much Jámon ham (spanish equivalent of Italian Prosciutto) and Salami during the entire trip....

Tomato that looks like a pig's nose!

EMU EGGS OHGAWD

The facade of Palau de la Musica Catalana, a world-class concert hall steeped in history that is amazing inside!! It is one example of the Modernista (Spanish Art Nouveau) movement present in many buildings in Barcelona. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to photograph inside.

Look at those gorgeous ligatures!

Facade of Casa Batlló (say Casa Bah-yeo) designed by Antoni Gaudí for the Batlló family. This house was an amazing representation of Gaudí's world and the Modernista movement.

A ceiling light in Casa Batlló

Window solarium

The inner facade at the top of one of the two air wells in the Casa Batlló. What a mouthful.

The roof. Those chimneys are wacky. Gaudí IS wacky!

View from the roof

Sagrada Familia, the unfinished cathedral by Antoni Gaudí, again. This is the most popular tourist attraction in Barcelona (and possibly Spain) which explained the impossibly long queue. We decided not to waste time waiting to get in.

Some old hospital, again in the Modernista style.

The terrace at Park Güell. Gaudí lived in a building in this park.

A metro station in Barcelona. The Barcelona metro was visibly older than Madrid's.

Tapas at La Boqueria. We visited that market many times! These prawns were delicious but expensive!

Beef Tripe. First spicy dish in Spain lol.

Beans and Baby Squid.

Chickpeas with meat and raisins. The Chickpeas were amazingly plump and succulent!

Little ducklings sold along The Ramblas just outside my service apartment building. I apologize for the wrong focus, not using a DSLR (but I bet you thought I did right hehehe?). They were cold D:

MACBA, or "Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona", a contemporary museum in Barcelona.

Sidetrack///
You might have noticed that in Barcelona, museum is spelt as "Museu" but in Madrid "Museo". This is because in Barcelona and the rest of Calalonia, the people are Catalan and speak Catalan, a variation of Spanish with more words sounding like French and Italian (because Catalonia is in northeastern Spain bordering France). The Spanish spoken in Madrid is Castilian, the normal type of Spanish.

Other examples of words I've noticed that vary are:
Sortida (Catalan) / Salidas (Castilian) — Exit
Espanya (Catalan) / Espana (Castilian) — Spain

That's it. lol.

Inside the museum.

Couldn't take photos in the exhibitions...

A special coke can with a Sagrada Familia design on it!

The view of Barcelona from my service apartment.

Our last meal in Spain—Tapas at La Boqueria, again.

Barcelona Airport

Our aircraft!

Just took off

The sunset looked awesome!

I'll be posting a selection of my film photos soon! I'm collecting them on tuesday!
